Precipitation hardening stainless steel 17-4PH (SUS630) and 15-5PH (UNS S15500) in bar and plate, combining high strength with good corrosion resistance. Cut to size, no MOQ.
Precipitation hardening (PH) stainless steels reach high strength through a single low-temperature ageing treatment while keeping good corrosion resistance. E STEEL SDN BHD supplies 17-4PH and the cleaner, tougher 15-5PH as bar and plate, cut to size with no minimum order quantity.
17-4 ph Stainless Steel
17-4PH is a precipitation hardening martensitic stainless steel, which combines high strength and hardness (after heat treatment) with excellent corrosion resistance, and is suitable for easy fabrication.
Solution Treatments. As supplied 17-4 PH is usually in the solution treated condition (Condition A). It can be heat treated at different temperatures to offer a wide range of properties.

Will 17 4ph rust? 17.4PH stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance. Corrosion tests and service experience have shown that in all aged conditions it is superior to standard hardenable stainless grades such as SUS 420, SUS 431 and SUS 410. Its corrosion resistance is comparable to grade SUS 304 Stainless.
17-4ph Welding Arc and resistance welding processes used on standard grades of stainless steel are applicable to 17.4 PH stainless steel. The low hardness enables sections, up to 100mm, to be welded without requiring pre heating.
sus630 Machining 17/4 PH Condition has machining characteristics similar to stainless steel grade SS302, SS304 and SS410. The high hardness and strength in Condition H900 is the most difficult to machine and the material should be machined at 60% of the rate which is used for Condition A.
Nitriding To increase the resistance to surface wear, with a slight decrease in corrosion resistance, 17-4PH / SUS630 stainless steel can be nitrided. An approximate hardness of 64/67HRc can be achieved, with a surface hardness depth of up to 0.15mm when nitrided at 45°C, while still maintaining a high core strength.
17-4 PH Stainless Steel is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel that provides an outstanding combination of high strength, good corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties at temperatures up to 600 °F (316 °C), good toughness in both base metal and welds, and short-time, low-temperature heat …
15-5ph Stainless Steel
Stainless steel 15-5 PH, also known as UNS S15500 or XM-12, is a modification of 17-4 PH developed in the 60’s. UNS S15500 stainless steel has a more refined microstructure as a result of the remelting process in which it was developed. This refined structure enhances toughness, especially in the transverse direction of the material. 15-5PH also has excellent corrosion resistance, good fabricating characteristics and low temperature hardening which makes Stainless Steel 15.5 PH the preferred alloy for many industries.
The composition of 15/5PH includes small amounts of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, columbium (or niobium), tantalum, silicon and sulfur. 15/5 PH can be forged, welded and formed. Machining may be performed in the solution-annealed state or in the final heat treat condition. Desired mechanical properties such as ductility and strength can be achieved through heating the material at various temperatures.
UNS S15500 is a martensitic precipitation hardening grade. Martensitic stainless steels were designed as a type of alloy which is corrosion resistant and could also be hardened through heat treatment.
