What is 2379 steel?
DIN 2379 steel is Cold Work Steel with High Carbon High Chromium contents. The Quality with high wear resistant and toughness properties due to Vanadium addition of 0.90% . Normally it supply condition is an Annealed and will offer hardness to reach 57-59 HRC. It can be machinable in the annealed condition.

What is D2 steel used for?
D2 is commonly used in long production, cold work applications, high wear applications and it is very popular as a knife blade steel. D2 tool steel is also available in precision milled Super Square, which can be 2, 4, or 6 side precision milled.
